Blue Ridge Community College may adjust campus operations when snow, ice, flooding, sever weather, or other hazardous conditions could affect safe travel or campus operations.
The safety of students, employees, and visitors is the highest priority when making decisions about closures, delayed openings, or other schedule changes. Decisions will be made and communicated as early as possible.

When Weather Affects Campus Operations
Weather and road conditions can vary significantly throughout Henderson and Transylvania counties, especially in mountainous areas. Conditions near one campus may be very different from conditions near your home or another Blue Ridge Community College location.
During inclement weather, students and employees should use their best judgment when determining whether they can travel safely.
Decisions Are Made Early
Blue Ridge administrators and public safety personnel monitor weather and travel conditions and communicate operational changes as soon as decisions are made.

If Blue Ridge Community College remains open but conditions make it unsafe for you to travel, follow the appropriate steps below.
Students
Notify your instructor if unsafe travel conditions prevent you from attending class.
Check your Blue Ridge Community College email and MyCanvas for announcements, course changes, and instructions from faculty.
Employees
Notify your supervisor if unsafe travel conditions prevent you from reporting to work.
Faculty should communicate scheduling or operational changes to their students as appropriate.

Are all campuses affected by the same weather decision?
