Blue Ridge Community College’s cohort-based Google Project Management Certificate course is designed for working adults ready to advance, regardless of their education background. This program has specific testing requirements for enrollment. Candidates must score within an established range (with both minimum and maximum score requirements) to qualify for participation. If your score falls outside of this range, our advisors would be happy to recommend alternative pathways for pursuing your Google Project Management certification goals.

Here are all of the details – this is just the online portion – we provide the in-person classroom time so you can really dig into the material and feel true confidence when interviewing or starting a new role. While you can certainly take it online on your own, your chances of finishing it and in a reasonable amount of time greatly increase with the group class model.

Are there hands-on projects?

Yes, you’ll complete multiple projects that simulate real-world scenarios. These include creating project plans, risk assessment matrices, stakeholder communication plans, and project documentation. You’ll build a portfolio of work to show potential employers.

What is a cohort-based Google Project Management Certificate course?

This is a structured learning program where you progress through Google’s Project Management curriculum alongside a group of peers. Unlike self-paced learning, you’ll have scheduled classes, group discussions, and deadlines, creating a more interactive and accountable learning environment.

How long does the program take to complete?

The course is 100 hours in class with more online assignments to be completed outside of class hours.

What prerequisites are required?

No prior project management experience or degree is required. You’ll need:

  • A computer with internet access 
  • English language proficiency
  • Time commitment is estimated at 10 hours per week (4 or 6 hours in class, the rest online)

What happens when I get my certificate?

Both Google and Blue Ridge have opportunities to help you develop an effective resume, craft a cover letter that is employer specific, and search for jobs. Google has a job board with over 150 companies that have jobs in project management – companies like Deloitte, Target, Verizon, and of course, Google.
