About Transfer Credits
Credit from Regionally or Nationally Accredited Colleges and Universities recognized by the United States Department of Education may be given for courses transferred from these institutions. Accreditation does not guarantee acceptance of transfer credit. To receive an evaluation, students must have an official copy of their transcripts sent directly to the Registrar’s Office at registrar@blueridge.edu.

4. Professional Certification

5. North Carolina Statewide High School to Community College Career & Technical Education (CTE) Articulation Agreement
The North Carolina High School to Community College Articulation Agreement (PDF) is an agreement between the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the North Carolina Community College System. The North Carolina High School to Community College Articulation Agreement provides a seamless process that joins secondary and postsecondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs of study. This statewide articulation agreement is comprised of high school CTE courses that match the knowledge and skills taught in similar community college courses. The articulation agreement ensures that if a student is proficient in his/her high school course, the student can receive college credit for that course at any North Carolina community college. This streamlines the student’s educational pathway by eliminating the need to take multiple courses with the same learning outcomes.
To be eligible to receive transfer credit through this process, students must meet all of the following criteria:
- Complete a high school course listed within the statewide agreement
- The course must have a transfer equivalency that is offered at Blue Ridge Community College to be eligible for transfer
- Complete the high school course listed in the articulation agreement with a “B” or higher
Requests for credit may be submitted to the Registrar’s Office at registrar@blueridge.edu.
