With student affordability and access at the forefront of higher education, Blue Ridge Community College is focused on ensuring students have timely, affordable access to required course materials. To support this commitment, Blue Ridge Community College has announced a new partnership with BibliU, a leading provider of campus store and course material solutions. Through the partnership, Blue Ridge and BibliU aim to improve course material affordability, ensure day-one access for students, and modernize the College’s campus store operations. This collaboration underscores Blue Ridge’s dedication to removing financial barriers to education.

As part of the partnership, Blue Ridge will introduce BibliU Access, a program designed to efficiently provide students with required digital course materials through a flat-fee pricing structure. The program is designed to ensure students have access to their materials on the first day of class, helping students begin each semester prepared to learn. This program is projected to save students an average of 50% or more on required textbooks, based on the current selection of course materials.

Additionally, BibliU will operate Blue Ridge’s campus store to create a seamless process for students to obtain their materials. The refocused store, opening in early March 2026, will feature improvements that make it faster and easier for students to get course materials while continuing to provide essential academic items.

Together, these efforts reflect the College’s ongoing commitment to affordability and student success by simplifying access to course materials and reducing out-of-pocket costs. In doing so, the College aims to support successful learning outcomes for all students.

“Selecting BibliU as our bookstore partner allows us to provide students with a cost-effective, transparent way to access their required course materials as soon as the first day of class,” said Carolyn W. Alley, vice president for finance and chief financial officer at Blue Ridge Community College. “With pricing based on course load, the store’s new model will remove financial and practical barriers, helping students start the semester prepared.”

“When a well-respected college is known for offering some of the most affordable tuition in the state, it tells you something about the choices they’ve made over time,” said Dave Sherwood, founder and CEO of BibliU. “While it’s no secret that textbooks have become increasingly expensive, you may not realize that BibliU was created to address that problem. By rolling out day-one access at Blue Ridge Community College, we are tackling the textbook affordability problem head-on so students have low-cost course materials on the first day of class.”

Blue Ridge’s partnership with BibliU enhances readiness, affordability, and student success from day one. More details about the BibliU Access program and campus store upgrades will be shared via the College’s website and student email in February.
