Vision Henderson County

Vision Henderson County is a comprehensive leadership development program initiated by Blue Ridge Community College and Henderson County Chamber of Commerce to promote informed and committed civic volunteerism.

Accordingly, its programs are designed to help participants acquire both a fuller sense of the wide array of critical issues affecting Henderson County, and the leadership skills necessary to motivate and engage others in collaborative efforts to resolve them.

Meet Our Executive Director

Vision Henderson County is led by Executive Director Gary Heisey. Gary has lived in Western North Carolina for 26 years.
In addition to his role as the Vision Henderson County Executive Director, he is the Executive Director for the Blue Ridge Community College Mission Acceleration Business Accelerator Program, a comprehensive business innovation program designed to assist for profit, not-for-profit and family owned businesses to take them to the next level of success and sustainability.

2022 Henderson County Leadership Conference

This Annual Conference will refresh you and your organization through providing fresh leadership insights, skills and qualities to proactively successfully move into 2023. The conference will challenge and inspire you to become a better leader and strengthen your leadership teams through the conference keynote and breakouts. Leadership becomes even more important when there is uncertainty in the economy, rising prices, employee recruitment challenges, and supply chain issues.

This half day conference starts with a keynote panel of county leaders in the for profit, not for profit and government sectors that will share 2022 lessons learned and proactive ideas for moving into 2023. Following the keynote, each participant will have the opportunity to take a leadership self-test to guide you or your leadership team into which of the leadership breakouts would be the best fit.

The conference provides an opportunity to learn, share, connect, and have fun with like-minded leaders in Henderson County to help make better business decisions, increase operational efficiency, and build stronger teams. The end result is continuing to support Henderson County as a great place to live, work and play.

The 2022 Henderson County Leadership Conference will be held on Thursday, November 10 from 8 a.m. – 12 noon at the Blue Ridge Community College Blue Ridge Conference Hall. The Conference is open to the public at no charge due to support from the Vision Henderson County Leadership Development Program, Blue Ridge Community College and the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce

Vision Transylvania

Vision Transylvania is a leadership program designed to develop a leadership pool of informed, involved, and committed citizens. During the program, participants explore issues facing Transylvania County to gain insight on how to formulate solutions and to encourage the team approach to solving community problems and visioning the future.
