Civil Engineering Technology prepares students to use basic engineering principles and technical skills to help plan, document, and supervise tasks involving sustainable land development, public works, and facilities projects.

Instruction includes materials and structural testing, field and laboratory testing, site analysis, estimating, project management, plan preparation, hydraulics, environmental technology, surveying, and the communication and computational skills required in these areas.

Graduates should qualify for technician-level positions with public and private engineering, construction, and surveying agencies.

Electronics Engineering Technology prepares students to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills to design, build, install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic components, equipment, and systems. These may include industrial and computer controls, manufacturing systems, communication systems, and power electronic systems.

Instruction includes mathematics, basic electricity, solid-state fundamentals, digital concepts, microprocessors, and programmable logic controllers.

Graduates should qualify to obtain occupations such as technical service providers, materials and technologies testing services, process improvement technicians, engineering technicians, construction technicians and managers, industrial and technology managers, or research technicians.

Environmental Engineering Technology prepares students to use mathematical and scientific principles to modify, test, and operate equipment and devices sued to prevent, control, and remediate environmental problems. The program also addresses the development of environmental remediation devices.

Instruction includes environmental safety principles and standards, testing and sampling procedures, laboratory techniques, instrumentation calibration, safety and protection procedures, equipment maintenance, and report preparation.

Mechanical Engineering Technology prepares students to use basic engineering principles and technical skills to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot projects involving mechanical systems. 

Instruction covers mechanics, engineering systems, design testing procedures, prototype and operational testing, manufacturing system testing, test equipment operation and maintenance, computer applications, critical thinking, planning, problem-solving, and communication.

Graduates should qualify to obtain occupations such as technical service providers, materials and technologies testing services, process improvement technicians, engineering technicians, industrial technology managers, or research technicians.

Mechatronics Engineering Technology prepares students to use basic engineering principles and technical skills to develop and test automated, servomechanical, and other electromechanical systems. Instruction includes prototype testing, manufacturing and operational testing, systems analysis, and maintenance procedures. 

Graduates should qualify to obtain occupations such as technical service providers, materials and technologies testing services, process improvement technicians, engineering technicians, industrial technology managers, or research technicians.

The Associate in Engineering (AE) is a calculus-based degree for students planning to transfer to a four-year university and pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
