Nursing is an exciting and challenging profession in healthcare. We are passionate about training future nurses to join a network of healthcare providers who safeguard our communities’ overall health and wellness. Our program creates a vital pipeline of nurses that feeds much-needed talent into our healthcare system.
The Associate Degree Nursing Program at Blue Ridge Community College quickly opens the door for employment for its graduates. It also lays the foundation for them to advance their education at four-year institutions for a BSN.
Taught by experienced nurse educators, our students receive hands-on learning through classroom instruction and state-of-the-art simulation labs, and gain clinical experience at area hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers and clinics.
The Associate Degree Nursing program of study at Blue Ridge Community College provides students with the knowledge, skills and strategies to integrate safety and quality into nursing care, to practice in a dynamic environment and to meet individual needs that impact health, quality of life and achievement of potential. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which is required to practice as a registered nurse (RN). The Associate Degree Nursing Program is five-semesters in length.
